So what's all the fuss when it comes to Holistic Living?
Over the past decade we have become extremely dependent on quick fixes, well not even fixes but temporary numbness to any form of illness, whether physical, mental or emotional; and have treated each symptom separately….with pills/chemicals. Our world has quickly become completely surrounded by toxic stress; whether it is mental and emotional stress, or the toxicity of the unnatural, over processed, high sugar, high salt, high preservative, synthetic and GMO ingredients we consume daily, radiation from our phones and electronics, more time in doors in front of TV and computer screens and less time in nature. We are living in a world where we take more pills to cover up the side effects of all the other pills we are taking and the cycle keeps going until our mind and body gives up completely. Yes we are living longer than we have before but the increase in mental illness and chronic illness is telling us that our lifestyles must change.
The future is Holistic Living or Conscious Living, what ever you want to call it. So what is it exactly?
Coming from the understanding that our Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Spiritual bodies; Our environment and the Universe cycles are all connected and all have a part to play not only in our own personal health and wellness but the overall health and well-being of the earth, universe and all its species. It is the knowing that all is energy and all inter connected. Our thoughts, our words, our actions, our food, our environment and all other living species interaction is a form of energy.
When living a Holistic Life we live conscious of all we do, eat, think and feel.
Embracing the healing effects of nature and natures medicinal gifts in the form of plants, sunshine, sea water and treating all with love and respect. It is knowing that humanity together with nature and the universe can and should live harmoniously. It is a balanced life. Including self care, an understanding that your good health will bring positive effects to all other parts of your life and the people in it. It is incorporating energy moving techniques such as yoga, Qigong and meditation for mind, body, spirit health. It is consciously choosing wholefoods and choosing not to eat animal products not just for health reasons but out of a care for all other species living on planet earth. It is consciously embracing the true power of the energetic body, the Chakra system and the connection between our physical and emotional state. Being aware of the moon phases, the planets and their energy. It is mindful living.
